Alishan Tea Garden Homestay

The first thing when Elaine told me that our homestay in Long Tou is a distance away from the main attractions in Alishan, I was abit skeptical, because it means that we either had to waste time in travelling and got exhausted in the end.

On top of that, when the Alishan shuttle bus stopped us at the Long Tou bus stop which was just at the foothill of our homestay (luckily! huh!), I almost fainted when I saw the steep slope leading towards the homestay. How I supposed to lug my luggage up to the top. And the flight of wooden staircase left me with weak trembling legs.

But before we had a chance to step into the homestay, the heart-warming welcome given by Mr Xu himself made me feel very much at home. I started to change my perception about our 2 nights stay here. Alishan Tea Garden Homestay is infused with European-style theme, every nook and crany was painstakingly decorated with cute and attractive items.

The Tea Garden local address in Chinese, and the front reception where Mr Xu would be stationed and worked most of the time.

The colourful business card of Tea Garden Homestay...of course placed in a very cute card holder.

The living hall by the fireplace, with full view windows overlooking the garden and mountains.

Sunlit indoor dining hall, taken in a beautiful morning....

Our cozy bedroom, Lilac Room, overlooking mountaineous view.

Cute kitties, busy fishing....for dollar notes :) SWEET....more business, more money

Postcards on sale...you may write postcards and send to your loved ones with an amount of postage charged according to the countries where it is delivered. Drop the postcards in this cute letter box provided next to the reception counter. Their postcards are overdosed sweet! The pictures all represent the stay in Tea Garden...the bell, the beautiful sunrise, and memorable bonding between families during the stay.

You see what I meant....the stay could be simply expressed in their postcards!

The story of Goldilock and the 3 bears? Papa bear, mama bear, and baby bear..LOL...the little coloured stools for us to change our shoes. You have to remove your shoes, placed them neatly in the shoes cabinet, and change into their indoor slippers provided.

The sunset view of the Tea Garden Homestay...

The garden was filled with colourful flowers in full bloom. The pink cherry blossom tree, brightened up the whole ambience.

I love SPRING! It is the most beautiful season of the year! The sakura and the lavender...

RISE and SHINE.....And, please allow me to showcase you, the mind-blowing sunrise view around the homestay...the bell against the sunrise backdrop. I'll post pictures of my naked face, jumped up right from my bed, before we had time to wash up our faces. Too enthusiastic on getting the best view and snaps of beautiful morning glory, the SUNRISE! Weather was cool in the morning, slipped on the jeans, the jacket, and boots, dashed right out to the garden. The sunrise was at 6.50 a.m. That T-shirt which I was wearing, was my sleeping shirt...hahahaaaa

The staircase leading to our homestay.

Lovely daisies shone by orangy hues of morning sunrise....my close-up naked face :)

The beautiful moment, the serenity, and peacefulness. Time seemed had came to a stop. The bird chirping, the cool fresh breeze gently sweeping pass my cheeks with tingly warm sunray, it was indeed a paradise! I did not feel like doing anything other than staring into blankness, stress-free, care-free....there's nothing beats beauty and wonder of nature.

Slowly took our time admiring the surrounding, even the small little thing could excite us, so called city girls..hahahaaaa

In front the homestay, there's a slope planted with tea leaves. But I think it was not the season for harvest yet, most of the leaves were too old.

Even an ordinary uncle who was spotted watering his vegetables, amused us...LOL. We were thick-skinned enough to ask him type of vegetables grown in the farm. He went to the extra mile, plucking out some to let us feel and smell. :)

After that, we went back to our room, bathed and got ourselves ready for a simple yet nutritious breakfast at 8.30 a.m. Instead dining indoor, we requested to have our breakfast outdoor. It would be such a waste if hiding away from the beautiful sunny morning. A toast, sausage, egg, and salad. oh...not forgetting the hot satisfying corn soup.

Though reluctant, but good thing will always come to an end. It was time for us to bid farewell to Tea Garden Homestay. sob sob...:( Dropped a message of appreciation on the diaries provided. Do you note that the room's key was attached to a scented pouch filled with flowers....so if you carry the key around in your bag, chances are your bag smells GREAT!

Our super friendly host, Mr Xu. He checked the time for us to board the Alishan shuttle bus so that we were in time to board the Sun Moon Lake direct bus at Alishan station later.

We checked out at 10 a.m...and trudged hesitantly towards the bus stop.

The bus stop was just across the street, but it was not sheltered. It was super sunny that morning.

Mr Xu offered to wait with us at the bus stop...this is what I call 5 stars service. He served us right to the end and waved us goodbye even when we were already seated comfortably in the bus.

The shuttle bus arrived at 10.40 a.m, and it took an hour up to Alishan station....and we will transfer to Sun Moon Lake by direct bus.

To end this post, this a failed snapshot taken by dearest Elaine. Good try, dear. :D

  3. Thank you for posting this information. Your pictures are beautiful. Can you please tell me if you attempted to make it up to the Alishan recreation area and Jhushan? If so, was there any public transportation up there or did you have to hire a cab? Any information would be great! Thanks
