This year Father's Day celebration was at DB Bistro at Marina Bay Sands. MBS boasts to have some of the World's best chefs. The list of world renowned chefs includes Daniel Boulud, Justin Quek, Santi Santamaria, Guy Savoy, Tetsuya Wakuda, Mario Batali and Wolfgang Puck.
That afternoon, we had patroned Chef Daniel Boulud's restaurant. Daniel Boulud is considered America’s leading culinary authorities. Over the last 2 decades, Boulud has brought his contemporary French cuisine to his 5 New York restaurants. In Singapore, he has opened his signature New York restaurant db Bistro Moderne, a modern French-American restaurant with a seasonal menu serving the finest of ingredients in MBS.
The interior design brings you the very classic French influence. As French love to dine with wine and champagne, DB Bistro has a selection of wine from their menu. Wine is French's deepest passion.
Celebrity Chef Daniel Boulud has launched a series of cookery books, which are displayed at the front counter.
The menu in red. They have a simple selection of food menu. Don't be surprised if their wine list is longer than the food. LOL...
Cuppa cappucino for me and a Cafe Au Lait (Latte) for hubby, served with cubes of raw sugar.
The aroma of the coffee beans, reminds me of France. Missing my holiday in Europe!
Appetizer: Nicoise salad, comprising of tuna duo-seared and confit, with potatoes, green beans, quail egg and white anchovies.
Happy Father's Day....
Main Course: Slow Baked Ocean Trout, with speck croquettes, green peas, baby carrot, blue foot mushrooms and lemon hollandaise. The trout was baked to perfection with soft and tender meat. Love the croquettes.
Main course of the day: The pork sausages with sunny side up and fried cubed potato, in maple syrup sauce.
Main course: Yellow Fin Tuna a la Plancha, with corn fricassee, king oyster mushrooms and diable sauce. I guess some of its menu are heavily influenced by French. Pardon me if you might have never come across with the words.
This cubed fried potatoes really reminds me of my stay in Dijon, where we had dined on this dish which was too salty for our liking. But DB Bistro, in MBS served their diced potato which is much much better than in France, guess they modified the taste to local's standard.
Dessert: Hot crepes with chunky berry sauce and cream
Dine in DB Bistro might be pricey, hey but its a fine dining experience in a world's most renowned celebrity chef, with his interesting creation.
