Day 4 was a super fun day, I am always girly and love princessy kind of thing since young. A full day was spent in Tokyo Disneyland. I bought admission tickets on the first day at Takashimaya Times Square, Shinjuku, with 6200 yen for adult and 5500 yen for senior citizen who is above 60 years old.
Tokyo Disneyland operates from 9am to 10pm. In order to get our hands on the FastPass which were said to have distributed out by noon time, we tried to reach the park early. FYI, the FastPass is a pass which allow you to save time without queing for long time to enjoy a ride or attractions. All you need to do is to locate attractions marked with FP, then you insert your ticket into a FP ticketing machine, near to that specific attractions' entrance. There will be a time stated on the FP ticket indicating the time you should return for the ride. With FP, you can minimize the time you spend in line, while enjoying the rest before returning back again.
It was Monday, a normal weekday where locals were seen in their boring black suits and ties, rushing for work. A sight of people ready to cross the street at Shinjuku, nearby my hotel stay.
As usual, we took off on JR Yamanote Line from Shinjuku to Tokyo Station. From Tokyo Station, we tranfered to Keio Line, to get to Maihama Station where Tokyo Disney Park is located. The whole journey took us around 45 minutes.
There are 6 stops from Tokyo Station before reaching our destination, Maihama. Make sure you board the right train bounds for Soga. This is very important, coz we almost got on the wrong one!
There we were, the paradise for those young at heart!
Once you step out from Maihama Station, turn right for Tokyo Disneyland, and turn left if you are heading to Disneysea.
Disney Park is a place where people will dress up resembling their favourite Disney characters, hugging Duffy bears, and other plush toys. In here, you are as free as a bird to dress whatever cuteness that you favour. Nobody will give you a good damn stare, coz everyone else, from different age groups, will be as cute as possible, immerse in this little world without worry and stress.
My first ride of the day, using FP, the Space Mountain (an indoor roller coaster ride)
With the Cinderella castle at the backdrop.
A Japanese boy dressed in a pirate costume, who allowed me to play with his sword.
I love to grab every opportunity to pose with my favourite princesses. This one was Cinderella and her prince charming.
Ohhhh...little Belle was spotted. Belle was the princess character in 'Beauty and the Beast'.
Bought some smoked turkey drumstick...which were huge!
Poor boyfriend... need to keep both Duffy and Shellie May in tow, while the girlfriend happily enjoying the attractions.
Went for Mickey's Greeting at Mickey's House in ToonTown. The queue was crazy...we were in the line for almost an hour, just to have this shot with Mickey. But he was such a love, he gave me a peck on my cheek and a tight warm hug before I waved goodbye to him. :) That'd made the whole waiting worthwhile!
The most awaited moment, Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights. So beautiful and mesmerizing. We had waited for an hour to reserve a spot with a good view for this in a very chilly weather. Make sure you always bring along a sweater which is warm enough to keep you from cold as evening falls.
Disney Magic in the Sky to end the day. Crowds not as insane as it is in Hong Kong Disneyland. You will be able to find out why in the next photo. Scroll down...
The fireworks are not as spectacular as the one in Hong Kong. Hong Kong Disneyland firework play is mostly covering the whole backdrop of the castle, which lasts for more than 15 minutes. But in Tokyo, its only 1 sided and lasts for less than 10 minutes. The whopping Disneyland ticket fare, really disappointed us, as fireworks has always been the showcase of the whole event and parade things.
Fireworks in Tokyo Disneyland
Fireworks in Hong Kong Disneyland...see the difference?
After the crowds dispersed, we hopped on Keio Line once again, heading to Tokyo Station. Settled down for a quick simple dinner as we were famished. As we couldn't read Japanese, we stepped into a small eatery tucked away in Tokyo Station, what we thought was a normal ramen shop, as seen from pictures displayed outside. However, after we sat in and started to order the food, we basically guess this was a shop selling healthy meals, using grains, soya bean, and no meat or dairy products were being used for their food preparation. The verdict: Food was quite ok la....but I still love my meat though :(
This was mum's shoyu ramen, served with imitation meat made from soya.
And this was mine...spicy sesame ramen, with soya bean imitation 'meat'
Continued our journey back to Shinjuku through JR Yamanote Line. These were some cutie Disney stuffs which I bought for kids and myself.
