I personally adore public holidays which fall on long weekends. It denotes that I simply have an extra off day, where I manage to pamper myself with favourite pastime.
For instance, reading fashion magazines, female magazines and watching korean or Hong Kong drama series....
....while doing leg reflexology at home
Or visiting a nail parlour to have your routine mani and pedi done. In my opinion, girls with yellowish and badly manicured nails look very unglamorous...I love my 3D nails, which reflects my real personality...cute, girlish (coz of pinkiness and floral thingy) and yet feminine, thanks to the sparkle of a glittering coat applied.

I do wish for a short getaway but sometimes due to time constraint and tight schedule of hubby's work nature, I was unable to plan a holiday in advance, which is normally essential as during peak season, people will flock to nearby spots of interest for relaxation.
Hence my favourite weekends pastime is FOOD HUNTING!! Below is my one day itinerary of eating 'extravaganza'....
Early morning started with a hearty breakfast of bak kut teh at Song Fa, near Qlarke Quay. P/S: My favourite bak kut teh haunts must be Outram Park Ya Hua Rou Gu Char and Founder Bak Kut Teh at Balestier.
A must order side dish to go with bak kut teh meal...stew trotter! The high laden collagen goodness is totally my weakness...
A bowl of hot piping pork ribs with peppery soup....but the taste was a tad too bland for my tastebud...I prefer very peppery saltish soup...to mix into my plain white rice...slurrppp!

After filling up growling stomach and recharged...went for a stroll around...
..and it was time for lunch after few hours or so...we stopped by at a Japanese restaurant. We tried to embrace the fear after rebuffing Japanese food especially sashimi for almost a month plus (due to radiation in Japan), which for me is a torture...Japanese food is my baby and kind of my staple too....:P. Here we dined at Waraku.
Dining with a view of Singapore River, along Qlarke Quay, where we manage to see people pumping their adrenalin trying out the the reverse bungee ride.
The staff reassured us that their sashimi and seafood were not flown from tsunami affected areas. Hamachi and maguro sashimi.
My fav uni gunkan (sea urchin), quite fresh though, no fishy aftertaste

We were shocked looking at the size of the serving ramen bowls...they were gigantic, humongous! As huge as face basin! This snapshot was blurred due to the condensation formed on my cam lens...so much steam created from the hot soupy ramen around.
I am all ready to wash my face, mummy. Where's my towel? LOL....
I was having chige ramen....ramen in hotstone bowl..very very hot...be extra careful not to burn your tongue!
Close snapshot of my noodle....there's a small bowl alongside this hotstone ramen, to cool down the noodle faster before consume. In other way to stop further cooking of ramen which will affect the springy texture of every strand. Very thoughtful indeed....

There's another Pasta de Waraku chain nearby...its more like fusion style ramen...combination of ramen and italian pasta thingy...looks yummy too
