Morton's...a place for PERFECT steak

Happy Valentine's Day to all.....Hubby and me celebrated our V Day 2 days in advance, which was on Sunday, in fact with our kids too. Initially, hubby booked a table for 2, but ended up we brought along the kids for the dinner. My mum had something on, on the same night. Nevertheless it was great to celebrate V day together
with the kids, as they were great photographers for the night...hahaaa.

Celebrating V Day in advance means we do not have to squeeze with crowds and having the same dinner set which are normally dedicated for couples who dine on the 14th of Feb. Personally, I do not fancy set dinner, as the dishes are somehow not up to my expectation as it usually is.

I received a surprise bouquet of roses from hubby, when I was away running some errands, while hubby were with the kids on a usual Sunday noon. Needless to say, I was so delighted to receive one, though honestly the bouquet was sold at a cut throat price compared to normal days!

In the evening, we went for candle-lit dinner at Morton's The Steakhouse, located at Mandarin Oriental Hotel. As you can see, the place was dimly lighted with sufficient candle light on tables, while dining.

Below picture was taken by our beloved daughter.

Our meal, started with complimentary of warm herb and tomato bread. The sweet smelling dough with faint herb, spread with some butter, definitely was a heaven for carbo lovers.

Next, the appetizer, lobster bisque...with very strong aftertaste of white wine. Best eaten with dash of black pepper.

We dined quite a number of times at Morton's, ususally hubby will order fresh oysters or scallops wrapped in bacon for appetizers. But this time I insisted for a change. Thus, I ordered crab cake served with mayo. This dish turned out to be very appealing, even my kids were not disappointed! They love the freshly made crab cake too!

Follow next, was my entree of Single Cut Filet Mignon, served with bernaise sauce. I had my steak medium done, and prefer to go easy with the sauce which was served separately.

This was hubby's entree of New York strip, which came in really a huge chunk.

Both kids had broiled salmon. We had some side dishes, like mashed potato and sauteed button mushroom, to go with our main. Surprisingly, these side came in a big portion. We were stuffed towards the end of the meal.

Lastly, our dessert of Morton's Hot Chocolate Cake, with single scoop vanilla ice cream. This was always our choice when it comes to dessert selection.

Most of the foodie pictures were taken without flash under dim light, hence to avoid blurry shot, one need to have a steady hand. Sadly, I couldn't take my picture without zero handshake...:(
