Tonight, hubby has dated me out for dinner, just the 2 of us. Initially, I craved for Korean, but gave up the idea in exchange for a proper steak meal over some beer. We patroned HooHa Cafe, located at 220 Pasir Panjang Road. This stretch of bars and cafes are very well- knowned among expats. Most of them like to hang out here after work. Those who want to save all the hassles from driving in heavy traffic during evening peak hours, should just go to Pasir Panjang instead.
HooHa Cafe is popular with its air flown New Zealand steak which is lightly char grilled to perfection.
The little ray of candle light, set on our table.
One of their all time fav appetizers, the creamy mushroom soup.
Crispy scallop rolls...not much of chunky scallop. Nothing to shout about.
My HoeGaarden beer in hand
Another popular appetizer: 1/2 dozen of French escargots baked in herbs and garlic
HooHa Cafe fascinates its patrons with their cozy alfresco setting under starry night sky and breezy atmosphere. Don't be surprised if you find the indoor seating is empty most of the time.
We managed to dine under full moon....;)
Happily posed with my steak meal....medium doneness....the steak was perfectly grilled with sprinkle of salt and pepper. They have 8 sauces for you to choose from, to go along with steak. I chosed lemon butter whereas hubby had mushroom sauce. The best thing was the sauces were served separately instead of drizzled onto our steaks. I prefer to nom nom on my steak plain, as sauce tends to cover up the wholesome taste of your perfect steak, which is always a NO NO for me.
Good steak only requires dash of salt and pepper, other than a perfect skill of getting the slab of meat done to ones expectations.
Hubby's 300g Ultimate Steak with ratatouile, and baked potato as sides.
This was mine: 200g Ultimate steak with mashed potato.
A simple yet satisfying dinner where you can sit back and relax in a comfortable ambience. Great for families, couples and friends.
